Ever wondered what it's like to be a beekeeper? Join us for an exciting 90-minute Introduction to Beekeeping session and discover the fascinating world of honey bees.

Whether you're interested in wildlife, the environment, science, or simply want to try something different, this hands-on experience is a great way to learn a new skill.

During the session you'll:

🐝 Discover how a honey bee colony works
🍯 Learn how bees produce honey, wax and other hive products
🌼 Explore the vital role bees play in pollination and protecting biodiversity
👑 Find out about the queen, worker bees and drones
🛠️ Handle genuine beekeeping equipment and learn how it's used
🥽 Try on a beekeeper's protective suit

Experience a Live Hive

Weather permitting, you'll have the opportunity to safely look inside a working beehive alongside an experienced beekeeper and observe thousands of bees in action.

Honey Tasting

Sample a range of delicious local honeys and discover how flavour changes depending on the flowers the bees have visited.
